Monday:  Mountains   (I)

Introduction:  Definition of “Geology.”

Mountains
1. God made the mountains and rules over them.   (Psalm 95:4-5)
2. Mountains are created to praise God, to give Him glory.   (Psalm 148:9-10)

Discussion of well-known mountains
1. Rib Mountains -- Wisconsin
2. Mt. Washington -- New Hampshire
3. Mt. Cadillac – Maine
4. Mt Vesuvius – Italy

Description of a hike on Mt. Rainier
1. The height, glaciers, snowfields, panoramic view of surrounding mountains (Mt. St.
Helen )    God is mighty.
2. The beautiful, delicate, fragile tundra flowers.    God is merciful.

The Lesson:  Mountains remind us of God.  He is mighty and merciful.

2. What are the highest peaks of each continent?
